From Fran:

My father passed away in 1996. He had a sudden heart attack at home, and that's where he left this earth. Last year, early summer, I started noticing pennies everywhere. They were mostly in my place of work's parking lot. I thought of the "pennies from heaven" deal, where a dearly departed would leave messages through coins, but nobody I knew passed away recently - it had been at least six years since dad died. So I just picked up the pennies and went on my way. Apparently, whoever was sending me pennies knew I wasn't getting the message because a few days later, I found one in the middle of my dictionary at work. I finally gave up and said to myself, "okay, I believe in it now. Thank you."

A couple of days later, my mother, whom I live with, shared a piece of information with me that I believe pinpoints my penny stranger. In her wallet, she has always carried a picture of my father. It's an old picture of him when they first met. She told me that a few days ago, she noticed the picture was suddenly upside down. She never touched it, and I never touched it. I guess although it's been six or seven years, dear old dad wanted to tell us he's okay.
