From Jeanne: I am a nursing assistant and have worked in three nursing homes over the years, and in each one I have had, shall we say, strange encounters. My first encounter took place when a lady I took care of and who was very much loved by the staff passed away. After her body was removed from the nursing home, her call light kept coming on, even though no one was in the room. My most unpleasant encounter was when I worked at my second nursing home - a home where many of the staff members had bad attitudes about their work and the residents. Two staff members, in particular, were really bad people and bad things happened to them all the time. Unexplained things. It was as if the nursing home had a spirit that protected the residents. For example, one night I overheard one of the male employees talking mean to one of the residents. I walked into the room and told him I didn't like the way he was talking to the patient. As you might imagine, he got smart with me but I stayed with him until he was finished with the resident. Later on that night he was cleaning commodes in the shower room and things began falling on his head, like cleaning supplies and other objects. I told him he was being punished by spirits who were there to protect the residents. Of course, he didn't believe me. The spirits must have been effective, however, because unexplained things continued to happen to him and he was eventually fired, as was his friend, an equally unpleasant nurse. I left that nursing home and have worked at a much nicer one for nine years now. I worked nights until recently. During the night shift I could sense spirits sent to protect the residents. Sometimes you can actually see them go into a person's room who is dying and you know they are there to prepare them for the journey to the hereafter. |
