From Chris:

When my wife and I first got married we lived in a rather large apartment in Akron. It was what they used to call a mother-in-law suite (above the garage). My daughter was born while we lived there and she was about three when we moved out. The mother of the landlord lived in the apartment before she passed away. We moved in shortly after that. When my daughter was two years old she was playing in her bedroom and we could hear her talking through the partially open door.

She seemed to be carrying on a conversation with someone. Later when she came out we asked her what she had been doing and she said that she was talking to the lady - the lady that would sit by her bed at night when she was sleeping. We asked her if she was afraid of her, and she said no, she was very nice, and would sit all night with her. We then asked her what she looked like, and she said that she was not very old, had brown hair, and wore a nightgown.

Although we thought it was a little strange, my wife and I pretty much thought that it was just her active imagination until one night I was up late and everyone else was sleeping. I had gone to the bathroom. The door was closed, but there was a frosted glass window in the door. The hall light was out, and I usually could not really see anything out of the window, but I looked up and saw an unusual glowing light, and the figure of a woman with brown hair, in a nightgown, FLOATING rather than walking past the window. She turned her head and smiled. I opened the door and she was gone. The hall was as pitch black as ever. Just in case you were wondering, my wife was sound asleep in bed.
