From Matthew:

I was about 10 years old and my siblings and I had gone with my mom to her friend's house. My mom and her friend had decided to go to the store to buy Spanish bread and had told my older cousin and me to stay inside and listen for the baby who, at the time, was upstairs asleep in her room.

My cousin and I were watching a television program while at the same time listening to the baby monitor. About twenty minutes had passed when my mom and her friend came walking through the door, and as many kids do when you present them with something they like, we stood up yelling and jumping in anticipation of sinking our teeth into the sugar sweet bread.

The baby's mom went upstairs to check on her two year old daughter, and when she emerged from the hallway she held in her hand a black ball that she had gotten out of her daughters room. She asked who had been upstairs playing with the baby.

Of course my cousin and I said no one, and we listened to the monitor the whole time and did not here a sound come out of the room. Her face then became seemenly agitated at the thought that we were lying to her.

My mom stepped in and said she was sure we wouldn't lie to her. The little gril's mom then asked the little girl where she got the ball from, and we let out a sigh of relief when the girl replied by saying, "grandpa was upstairs playing with me."

At ths time my cousin's sigh of relief as well as my own had now turned to an extremly confused look, and prompted an imediate reply, "we swear no one came in or out while you were gone."

As we were turnnig to look at my mom I saw the young lady was now kneeling down and taking her little girl's hand and asking her to repeat her story. The little gril repeated the same thing.

By now the mom looked terrified and tears were starting to form in her eyes. My mom dismissed us by telling us to go back outside and play. After about an hour we saw the priest from our church pull up, and because we were so close and so involved in the church, we thought nothing of it.

It wasn't until later that evening when I overheard my mom talking to my dad that I realized why the little girl's mother looked so disturbed. It appears the little girl's grandfather had passed away just six months earlier.
