From Christopher and Carol:

Carol lived alone in an apartment in Dallas before we were married - thanks to a well-paying job. One day she indulged in buying herself a valuable gold necklace. She never removed it after the first donning.

She was alone one night, as usual, and after having removed the trash, had put a clean paper sack in her trash can and cleaned the kitchen before going to bed.

The next morning when she awoke, she found the paper sack standing next to the waste can, not in it. She dismissed it and attributed it to being excessively tired from the day before.

Shortly after this occurred, she awoke one morning to find her prized gold necklace lying at the edge of the sink in her master bathroom. You will remember I said she NEVER removed it, yet there it was, inexplicably.

Needless to say she was upset and decided to transfer to another apartment. Just one week after moving in, the new occupant, another single woman, was murdered.
