From Hillary:

My cousin Kirk was about to be married to Amy. My mom noticed something that just appeared in the tree as Kirk was taking his place. It was a blue jay.

The blue jay stayed throughout the wedding ceremony and the four hour reception, not leaving even once. Even when my parents, sisters, aunts, and my other cousins were leaving for home, the blue jay was still there, looking inside the window at my cousin Kirk and his new wife Amy. When Kirk and Amy left, the blue jay disappeared.

Everyone in my family believes that it was the spirit of my aunt Geenie who died a long time ago. There are three reasons our family believes this.

First, it just showed up out of no where and stayed until Kirk and Amy left. How many birds would sit in one place for four hours and watch a wedding and reception?

Second, my family believes the same blue jay was seen at my cousin Julie's wedding and, when photographed, it wasn't in the picture - the faint image of a woman appears instead.

And, third, blue jays were always Aunt Geenie's favorite birds.

My cousin Kirk said the blue jay was the best wedding gift ever!
