From Chris:

When I was sixteen I got the chicken pox and was feeling miserable. I had been running a fever for a day and a half. My mother had given me some aspirin and I laid down for a nap. I could not seem to get comfortable enough to go to sleep though with all of the itching and such.

At some point I fell asleep and was awakened by my grandmother whom I had not seen in a month or so because she and my grandfather were in Hawaii for a vacation. My grandmother shook my shoulder and looked down at me and said, "see that is what you get for picking on your brother."

This phrase was used by her as a joke to get me to laugh everytime that I got hurt or was feeling bad. I remember smiling at her and laughing telling her that I loved her. She stroked my hair and told me to get some rest. I went to sleep. I woke up a bit later and asked my mother where my grand mother was so I could spend some time with her. My mother said that she was still in Hawaii which I obviously did not believe so my mother called her there to prove it to me.

We were shocked to find out that my grandmother had a heart attack about an hour previous to our call and had passed away. My grandfather to us that my grandmother was delirious and seemed to be talking to me just before she passed. I remember it well and feel that somehow she was coming across to say one last good-bye.
